Ernest Trobridge, Cottages And Castles Composite

London:Midweek Explorers POSTPONED

Event info

RPS have postponed all meetings until at least the end of June due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  We hope to be able to bring this walk to you later in the year.

Join us for a photographic walk to see and photograph some of the unique and innovative domestic architecture designed by Ernest George Trobridge in the 1920s and 1930s in the Metroland suburbs of Kingsbury, in Brent, the London Borough of Culture for 2020.

Led by Philip Grant, an expert on Trobridge, we will see many examples of Trobridge's individual and innovative designs amongst the more typical 'semis' of the area, including thatch-roofed elm houses and block of flats built as castles. We will also visit the Trobridge display in Kingsbury Library.

For more information on the remarkable life and work of Trobridge, see:

Logistics

We will meet at Costa Coffee, 624 Kingsbury Road, NW9 9HN, which is almost directly opposite Kingsbury Station (Jubilee Line) at 10:30 departing at 11:00 for our visit to the Trobridge display in Kingsbury Library and walk.  The walk is expected to finish at about 1.00pm and those who wish are welcome join us for lunch (venue to be confirmed).

An Opportunity

Those who wish will have the opportunity to submit a photo, or photos, for a small display alongside the Exhibition about Trobridge in the Kingsbury Library.  The Exhibition will run from mid-May until 26th July 2020. Philip will give us more details on the day.
