About Rick: Rick is an award winning photojournalist based in South West London with a very keen interest in the world of news and press photography. Rick has been working in the industry for more than seven years predominantly in the London area, but a keen interest in conflict photography has seen him travel to recent hot spots including Syria, Iraq, Somalia and Burundi. With inspiration from photographers such as James Nachtwey and Sean Smith, Rick hopes to climb to their level of success while following his own personal drive and reason.
Rick's work has featured regularly in leading publications such as The Guardian, The Sunday Times, Wall Street Journal and The Independent to name a few. In 2013 his work covering the Syrian civil war was widely recognised by the Picture Editors Guild Awards, Professional Photographer of the Year Awards and was exhibited in the National Theatre as part of the Press Photographers Year 2013 exhibition.
Here is Rick's website but some of you may remember Rick from the talk on Syria, which he gave to us in Putney a couple of years ago. Here's the link
Don't miss the chance to see the work of this talented and engaging photographer.
