London:Midweek Explorers visit Gray's Inn

The meet up point is the coffee shop Black Sheep Coffee at 26 Southampton Buildings, WC2A 1PN. This is located near Chancery Lane Tube (Central Line) – take exit 4 to street level (High Holborn), and follow the alley beside Caffè Nero, taking at right turn at its end into the street called Southampton Buildings, where you will find Black Sheep Coffee on the right.

 After coffee, we make our way back to High Holborn via Staples Inn Chambers (formerly an Inn of Chancery as distinct from an Inn of Court).

Crossing High Holborn, we make our way along Grays Inn Road and into Gray’s Inn (of Court), walking through Gray’s Inn Square and South Square Gardens.

Continuing along Clerkenwell Road we visit the basilica-style St Peter’s Church, - your Italian speaking skills will come in useful.

Crossing Farringdon Road, we explore Clerkenwell before heading to nearby Farringdon for a well-earned lunch, where we finish. Farringdon Station is on Thames Link, Hammersmith & City, Circle and Metropolitan Lines and of course buses are available at all good bus stops.

After lunch you may wish to continue though Smithfield to St Paul’s or the Barbican
