London:Urban Capture the Essence of Place 1 - where you live

If the answer is yes, then join our mini-project!

While we're not able to meet for our regular group walks at the moment, we have come up with a plan for each of us to share our ‘local manor’ and learn about different areas of London (or wherever you are)!

1. Join us on Zoom for a one-hour briefing
2. Explore and take pictures of your local area over a period of three weeks
3. One week to edit and upload your images to Dropbox
4. Zoom in again for a ‘Virtual Walk’ together in one month’s time, when we will talk about your series of five pictures and your ‘local manor’.

Here’s the proposal:

Initial Zoom meeting: 

(Tuesday evening) 7^th July 7.00-8.00pm

At this meeting Roger will present ideas about what it means to capture the essence or atmosphere of an area and participants will have an opportunity for discussion.

Photography phase!  8^th July to 31^st July

Each participant takes photos on walks in their local area (or ‘manor’) and selects five, which they consider capture the essence of that area, to be presented at the photo-sharing session.

Upload your five images to Dropbox by 7^th August in preparation for the virtual walk and photo-sharing session on 8^th.  (Link will be supplied at the end of July).

Virtual Zoom Walk

(Saturday morning) 8^th August at 10.00am-1.00pm

Pick up a coffee and a croissant and zoom along to enjoy each others photos (virtually).  Each participant will be invited to talk about their five photos, introducing their local area to us, adding to what we hope will be an interesting and varied photographic journey around London, suburbs and elsewhere.
