London:Bookworms January Meeting

Meetings of the Bookworm Club take place monthly, on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.
The photographer featured in the January meeting of Bookworms is Eugène Atget (1857-1927), whose documentary images of late nineteenth and early twentieth century Paris have won him recognition as a forerunner of the Surrealists and a pioneer of modern photography.
Fred Sansom will discuss a number of photographs from Atget, published by New York's Museum of Modern Art, with insightful commentary by John Szarkowski, the museum’s former director of photography.
