London Naturally visit Horsenden Hill in May 2021 PHOTOWALK
Event info
This month London Naturally will explore and photograph the Horsenden Hill conservation site which comprises a mix of meadows, wetland and woodland habitat as well as the highest point in the London Borough of Ealing. We will be walking approximately three miles.
Details:
The walk follows part of Section 9 of the Capital Ring. From the meeting point at Greenford Station we head to Paradise Fields Wetlands with its scrapes, reed beds and lagoons. From here we head along a short stretch the Grand Union Canal before a steep climb up Horsenden Hill, the highest point in the London Borough of Ealing with views over six counties and ten London Boroughs. We descend the hill through Horsenden's ancient wood. Once we leave the wood we have a 0.5 mile road walk to Sudbury Town Station where the walk will finish.
Much of the walk will be on unsurfaced paths which may be muddy so please wear appropriate footwear. Also bring a drink to keep you hydrated. Unfortunately there is nowhere convenient for refreshments/lunch at the end of the walk so you may also want to consider bringing a snack.

Attending this Event
While none of us can be sure what the future holds with regards to meeting up and the Covid-19 pandemic, we are taking the cautious approach of limiting bookings for this event to just twelve participants (to be split into two groups) in the first instance: if the opening up of outdoor events and activities scheduled for May 17 goes ahead as planned, we will be able to open up our event too, and that is what we will do!
