RPS London May Special Visit to Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park

Event info

We have arranged a special visit to Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park with the Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park.

Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park offers everyone a breathing space in the heart of East London. This woodland cemetery is a unique place of transformation: a people’s cemetery, a place for remembrance, a sanctuary for humans as well as nature, a place for festivals, field studies and forest schools. Always changing with the seasons, it is rooted in the history of the East End, a place of rich heritage that is full of possibilities and freedom for all.

We will be met on arrival and given a welcome talk by someone from the Friends of the Park and given details of where to find what etc..

There will be a fee (donation) of £10, reduced to £5 for students and or the unwaged/those on a low wages.  Here's the website for more information.

Although it is a big park, we are restricting the Group to a maximum of 20 photographers to ensure space for everyone to take photos - but if the event is oversubscribed, we will try to put on a second similar event - perhaps later in the year.

Obviously this is dependent on Lockdown going ahead as planned. All Government Regulations and Recommendations will be observed during the visit.

Here is the link to the Cemetery Contact and Access page.

There appear to be good transport links and there is an invitation to contact them via the website to book parking.  We have confirmed that toilet facilities are available at the Park's Reception.

Thanks for organising this to Mike Psyllides;  any questions to Mike: LondonDist2@rps.org or the Regional Organiser David london@rps.org or Judy Londonro2@rps.org
