Event info

Join us for a Field Trip to the London Wetland Centre to St James's Park

St James's Park is readily accessible from St James's Park Station (nearest), Westminster and Green Park Stations and Charing Cross.

Meet at the St James Café at 10:30 am:  this is the main café near the lake. details here.

We will explore the bird life around the lake which is notable for the resident Pelican population.  Pelicans were first introduced to the park in 1664 as a gift from the Russian Ambassador, over 40 pelicans have since made the park their home!

There are many duck and other waterfowl on the lake. The secluded shrubberies and woodlands on the islands are important refuges for smaller birds too. Here is a link to the Wildlife which you can enjoy in the Park.
