London Street June Photowalk

For our June Street Walk we will explore The Angel.  

Meeting at Angel Tube Station for a 10:30 start.

For those who would like a coffee beforehand there are many coffee shops in the area:  the one which springs to mind is Pret a Manger, directly across Islington High Street from the Station, but there are others, of course!  'Facilities' are available in Angel Central Shopping Centre - details of how to find the Angel Central Shopping Centre are below.

Our walk will take us along the side streets past the iconic Frederick's restaurant to Camden Passage, where there will be plenty of opportunity to photograph and browse.  From Camden Passage we will cross beside Islington Green to Upper Street.  We will then zig zag along the west side if Upper Street, via some of the old and new squares and Shopping Centres. 

When Fred and I did the recce we went as far as Highbury Corner and looped back to Union Chapel/Compton Terrace - but if anyone is feeling that they have "done enough" there is a dropout point at Highbury & Islington or the opportunity to start the return walk before Highbury Corner.  Our return will take through interesting streets and terraces to the East of Upper Street.

The weather forecast is for mainly a sunny morning, with some cloud from 1.00pm with temperatures of 18 degrees at 10.00am rising to 21/22 around lunchtime.   As usual, come prepared, travel light and wear good walking shoes!

To find Angel Central Shopping Centre, cross the road from the Tube Station carefully (it is a very busy road) to Liverpool Road.  Walks up Liverpool Road a few hundred yards passing the entrance to Chapel Market on the left-hand side: you will find the Centre a little further up on the right hand side. Toilets are upstairs but clearly signed and why not photograph "The Angel" while you are there?
