London Region Distinction s LRPS Advisory ONLINE - LRPS

Event info

The London Region Distinctions Team invite you to an Online Advisory for those working towards their Licentiate Distinction; those wishing to learn about the process may attend as Observers.

Attending this Advisory day will give you the opportunity to discuss your portfolio with current panel members in a professional but friendly atmosphere.

At this particular event, we will be looking at both digital and print submissions but obviously they will all be reviewed digitally.

Details:

An event open to both members and non-members of the Society,

What are the requirements for Licentiate?

The Distinction ‘Licentiate of The Royal Photographic Society’ is the first level of the RPS’s Distinctions. Licentiate members of The RPS are entitled to use the letters LRPS after their name. The standard is high, but achievable for most dedicated photographers.

Who are the Advisors?

Janey Devine and Linda Weevil

What advice will I receive on the day?

All comments made on the day are the opinion of one person, given their extensive experience and knowledge of the distinctions process. However, you should remember that the assessment when made will be based on the results of the assessor’s opinion and discussion. Ultimately it is the applicants/photographer’s responsibility to fulfil the criteria and requirements.

All comments on the day will be based on the assessment criteria.

How much does it cost?

  1. RPS members who would like advice: £15
  2. Non-RPS members who would like advice: £20
  3. Observers: £10

Observing an online advisory day is a very good way to learn about the distinctions process and to see the advice given. Please do not bring any of your own images to the event on the off-chance that you can receive advice. Only portfolios that have been booked can be assessed.

Before you sign up for the session, please make sure you have read the Distinctions Guidelines which contain important information on requirements. This can be downloaded from the RPS website www.rps.org/distinctions.

After you have signed up for this event, you will receive an e-mail confirmation including a pdf attachment advising you how, when and where to submit your images. This will need to be done at least 14 days before the Advisory Day so that the Advisers have a chance to review them in advance.

You may be interested in the very active Distinctions Facebook page, which contains comments and examples - both successful and unsuccessful - from all levels of applicant. Link Here.

Any enquiries, please email Brian in the first place: LondonDist1@rps.org
