London Midweek Explorers October 2022

This month we visit Paddington Basin and Little Venice.

The meet up point is at Torelli, Canal Side Walk Paddington Basin, London W2 1AS, at 11:00 for an 11:15 start – here is a link

To find this, take the exit to the canal nearby platforms 12-14 in Paddington Main Line Station, following the signs to the Grand Union Canal (the letters are in yellow), It’s also conveniently beside the exit for the Hammersmith and City line underground station. Torelli is canal side, just to the right as you leave the station.

We will explore the Paddington Basin, with its mix of new and old developments, alongside the canal which we criss-cross several times. We then make our way to Little Venice, where the Paddington Basin, Regents Canal and the Grand Union Canal meet, forming a triangular shaped basin, with towpaths and bridges for access.

We will find much to photograph – people, street, urban, waterways and barges, architecture – modern and Regency (eg stucco terrace town houses ...) - and even some wild life of the beak and feather variety!

This walk will offer photographic opportunities for various genres eg Urban, Street, Citiscape and more.

Be sure to come prepared for the weather: remember this is now Autumn and we may have sunshine or rain or both in the course of the walk!
