Attending this LRPS only Advisory day will give you the opportunity to discuss your images with current panel members in a professional but friendly atmosphere. Also, everyone will get the chance to see examples of portfolios showing the main reasons why they were successful.

What are the requirement for LRPS?

You need to show good photographic competence in camera work, technical quality, visual awareness, communication. Please ensure you read the full criteria. The guidelines can be downloaded from the RPS website www.rps.org/distinctions

What advice will I receive on the day?

LRPS advice only

How much does it cost?

RPS members who would like advice £15

Non-RPS members who would like advice £20

Spectators/observers (both RPS members and non-members) £10

How many images shall I bring?

10 images plus a minimum of 5 spares

Do all my images need to be mounted?

All images should be mounted except for your spares; this will ensure we can display them correctly.

Attending for Advice:

On arrival please register at the front desk and then place your panel safely on the tables to the side of the room. You will have the opportunity to receive guidance on your proposed panel and how to prepare it. The panel assessors will introduce the Advisory Day and show examples of successful panels. You will then be invited to display your images for comment. As a participant, you should bring your prints that you consider could form the basis for a panel, along with spares.

Observers:

Being an observer is a very good way to learn about the distinctions process, listen to the advice being given and see examples of successful panels. Please do not bring any of your own images to the event on the off chance that you can receive advice. Only panels that have been booked can be assessed.

Facilities:
As only light refreshments will be provided; it is recommended that attendees should bring a packed lunch.

The venue has wheelchair access and toilet facilities for the disabled. 

Booking a place:

Those wishing to attend are asked to register and pay through the RPS website. If there are any problems with this process, please contact the organiser.

Cancellation policy

If you wish to cancel within 4 weeks of the date of the event, no refunds will be given. The Society reserves the right to cancel an event 7 days prior to its start date - please check your hotel and travel cancellation policy as this may be affected. The running of this event is subject to the minimum number of 8 applicants
