The annual Oxford Christmas Light Festival provides a great opportunity to capture low light portraits and street activity. Beginning with a lantern procession of schools and youth groups, interspersed with articulated puppets, brass bands, and assorted dance acts, the route takes in a number of static and mobile son et lumière displays. We follow the route to Gloucester Green Town Square before retiring to a local pub to swap stories, grab a pint, and feel envious at each other's images. Expect to be out and about for 3-4 hours. Other options for the more intrepid include the Christmas Market on Broad Street and the light displays on various buildings including the Christ Church Cathedral, the Museum of Natural History and Pitt Rivers Museum, Radcliffe Camera and The University Church of St Mary the Virgin.
