Will Cheung FRPS

Event info

Will Cheung FRPS has been taking photographs for over fifty years, attained the Fellowship distinction of the RPS with a panel of monochrome prints in 1983 and worked on photography magazines for forty years. He is currently a freelance editorial contributor to Amateur Photographer, Photography News, Digital Camera Magazine and ePhotozine. His photographic interests are diverse but his first love is black & white photography. Shooting pictures for himself and to illustrate features that he produces for clients, he takes a project-based approach to his work and current themes he’s working on include the UK’s working piers, Venice at night and toilets.

Energise your photography: stimulate your creative senses by setting yourself photo projects to shoot, says Will Cheung FRPS. Has your photography mojo gone walkabout? Is going out with the camera now a chore? Are your pictures boring and lifeless? As keen photographers, going through the creative doldrums is nothing unusual and can happen to almost everyone. What’s important, though, is developing a strategy that gives your imaging a fresh lease of life and Will Cheung’s presentation might be just the tonic your photography needs. His projects are all self-imposed: some are serious while others are less so; some have an end goal, others don’t; and some are short-lived while others can last years. The simple aim, though, is to find as many reasons as possible to get out with your camera, regardless of lighting, location and mental state, and this presentation covers a wide range of subject matter including scenic, nature, travel and street. It’s an approach that is almost guaranteed to help those struggling for inspiration and looking to give their photography a creative boost.

An excellent opportunity to listen to one of the UK’s leading photographers and develop new insight into your treasured hobby. Not to be missed.
