History of Family Photography and Restoration of Photographs

Event info

A Presentation and Talk by Stephen Gill FRPS.

Over the years Stephen has gained a vast amount of both practical and academic experience plus qualifications including Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society and being awarded Accredited Senior in Imaging in the Creative Industries.

He was introduced to photography when he was about 7 and thankfully had parents and grandparents who valued family photography. He has inherited thousands of images. Most of the examples on his website are from his own collection of these family photographs.

Having started photo restoring in the days of working directly on the negative or print, he also has years of experience managing digital restoration in a national restoration service. He now runs his own service and has published a book on researching family photographs.
