Membership

Digital Imaging and Digital Imaging Online

Membership and how to join

Digital Imaging Group membership is open to all existing and new RPS members. You must be a member of the RPS to be eligible to join any Special Interest Group, and you may join as many Special Interest Groups as you wish.

Subscription to the Digital Imaging Group is currently £18 per year in addition to your normal RPS membership. Alternatively, you can subscribe as a Digital Online member and pay £9 per year in addition to your RPS subscription. You will enjoy all the benefits of Digital Imaging Membership but you do not receive printed publications - you view them online.

Go to the membership pages on the main site and sign up today!

Choose either Digital Imaging or Digital Imaging Online (not both).  The amount shown is that which you will be charged pro rata to bring you up to your RPS renewal date, as both SIG and Society subscriptions run concurrently.

We hope we will soon be welcoming you as a new Digital Imaging member.

Things we do

DI News

DI News comes out the first week in every month. You receive an email alert to tell you when it has been uploaded but the current edition is always available on the Publications web page. DI News keeps members up to date with what's happening, member successes and general interesting information. Also read about our other publications. DIGIT our glossy magazine, is published four times a year, and Accolade, our celebration of member distinctions appears twice a year.

DI Facebook Group

Our Facebook group is proving to be a good place for people to post images for comment, to ask general questions and to generally interact. It is a closed, moderated group so those of you with concerns over some of the more unacceptable ways people use Facebook should feel reassured.

Only members of DIG are able to join. We trust most sincerely that everyone will respect each other and that moderation will not be necessary.

Once you join the page you will be validated as a DI member and given access. This is a manual process so please do not expect instant access.

DI Centres

We have six active centres around the UK. Each Centre has its own web space. All Centres have at least 4 meetings per year primarily for DIG members, but open to anyone, although this has changed to online meetings during the Covid-19 pandemic. Why not contact the Centre Organisers to get your name on their circulation list to be sure you get information about the meetings?

Annual Competitions

There are two free to enter member-only competitions each year. We start the year with our Print Exhibition selection which takes place at the AGM. You enter 3 prints and are guaranteed to have one selected for the travelling DI Exhibition.

Around August, we hold the Projected Image competition. Entry is online, each image is judged and scored. Compositions gaining the acceptance level are printed in DIGIT and the winning images are published in an online gallery. All participants get a private email of their scores.

And don't forget the monthly competition!

DI Committee

We are always happy to hear from our members.  Read about and contact our committee members.
