New museum of Mountain Photography opens with exhibition by Swiss photographer Ulrich Akkerman
High in the Dolomites, at Kronplatz, a former cable car station has been transformed into a beautiful gallery and restaurant dedicated to Mountain photography. The inaugural exhibition is by Ulrich Akkerman, specialist in vertical format photography using his Hasselblad XPan.Having already produced a successful book of vertical pictures of the Dolomites, Ulrich was invited to provide images for the opening exhibition.They are printed in sizes from 1.30m to more than 3 metres. The images have boards fixed below them with myths, legends or history of each mountain.
The exhibition runs until the 19th of April 2020 and then moves to a new location.
