This month, we have a change of format for the Newsletter. We are giving the whole of the July Newsletter (apart from the Editorial, the Chair Chat and an advert for the residential programme in the Outer Hebrides (in October 2024) to a long and hugely thought-provoking article by David Travis, who manages the Landscape Group Circles. He describes his approach to assessing images both when he is making images in the field and when he is critiquing his own and others' work. I found the way he assesses images and how he might improve images, comprehensive and very useful. Therefore, with some trepidation, I offer a couple of my own images to illustrate this editorial.
Anyone who would like to explore further how David critiques images should consider joining one of the Circles. I know that David would be only too pleased to explain how the Circles operate and to invite members to join. They are free of charge.
