Close To Home: Dormansland Looking to North Downs
My six images were taken between February and December 2022 from the south corner of a sloping field located about 1km from my home in Dormansland Surrey. The view looks north to the escarpment of the North Downs on the horizon, some 16km distant. My common focal point, in all but the misty fifth image, is the end of a white walled cottage. In these images I particularly wanted to illustrate the varying use of the field throughout the year, growing both summer wheat and two green crops, the first in early spring and the second in late autumn. I also sought to capture varying seasonal skies and, as in a couple of shots, some interesting cloud formations. The set of six images concluded on 12 December with a surprising opportunity to capture an undisturbed snow scene; the first decent snowfall in my area for quite a few years.
