A group of 12 Nature Group members and Volunteers from Paxton Pits met at 9.30 am at Burwell Fen hoping to spy the Little Owls but no success.
We walked to the National Trust Cafe at Wicken Fen visiting 3 hides en route. The weather was very overcast and misty so getting any photographs was a challenge but I think we all enjoyed the companionship and opportunity to talk about wildlife and photography.
A Marsh Harrier performed well and looked at home in the soft Fenland landscapes.
After lunch, we returned by the more direct route and went out onto Burwell Fen, hoping to get views of the Short-eared Oels - no luck though we enjoyed the Konig Ponies, Roe Deer and a tame Stonechat.
