A group of 7 Nature Group members met at around 10 am at Barnack Hills and Holes having negotiated a large number of Road Blocks due to a Sporting Event (Triathlon) in the area. We were disappointed but not surprised by the paucity of the flora compared with previous years. Presumably the warm and dry recent weather has discouraged the orchids - very few Early Purples compared to previous years and only a single small Man Orchid.

After lunch, we visited Cribbs Meadow and here the difference to previous years was even more marked with only a handful rather than hundreds of Grenn-winged Orchids though the Water Avens and Adder's Tongue were present in reasonable number.

Despite the paucity of orchids, everyone made the most of the opportunity to spend several hours concentrating on flower photography!!
