Gavin McGuire

I am a New Zealand archaeologist and award winning photographer with the Belgian School at Athens, Université catholique de Louvain-la-Neuve, excavating at the Kephali, a Minoan-Mycenaean palace, in Sissi, Crete. I live in Vrachasi, Crete, with my wife, the resident artist, Rosemarie McGuire. I am involved in a long-term photographic study of the site (2009-2026), as well as photographing the local traditions of Crete. Besides Aegean archaeology I have also an interest in conflict archaeology, particularly the 1941-45 Pacific war period .
