Janice Payne ARPS

I am a member of Hailsham Photographic Society where I held the post of External competition secretary for four years before taking a break in the summer of 2019. I regularly enter club competitions and exhibitions; having had some reasonable success there I started competing in external regional competitions and exhibitions, all of which I enjoy.
I find it rewarding to work in panels and on bodies of work, often forming part of ongoing projects.
I joined the Royal Photographic Society in 2010 when I obtained my LRPS Distinction and in March 2015 I submitted a panel of prints to be assessed for an ARPS distinction which, I am very proud to say I achieved unanimously at first attempt after taking some advice along the way.
Having been a member of the RPS Digital Imaging Group at Thames Valley for many years, I joined their committee in 2016 and took on the role of Programme Secretary, a post I held until 2020 and that resulted in meeting many lovely people, photographers and presenters. During the pandemic the RPS Digital Imaging Group at Thames Valley was disbanded and we merged with the Thames Valley Region.
I am also a member of the RPS Landscape Group, the Visual Arts Group and the Creative Eye.
Having been a member of United Photographic Postfolios of GB (UPP) for a couple of years, In 2018 I became Circle Secretary for Circle 30, one of the 'small print' circles, the Circle has 15 members who receive a Folio once a month, I find this is very rewarding and a good place to get feedback on new ideas. In 2019 I became a member of Council for UPP and soon after became Vice President.
