Ken Holland FRPS

I began making photographs at a very young age. Most of my early work was with colour transparencies. Later, when I set up my own darkroom, I began to explore the creative and expressive potential of monochrome. My work is now digital, but the expertise I acquired using film has been a great help. I am a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society, I am a member of its Contemporary Group, and a member of the RPS panel that awards the Distinction of Licentiate. I was delighted to have my work displayed in the RPS Members' Gallery. I have been awarded a Distinction from the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain, and was awarded a PAGB Gold Medal for best monochrome print of the year. My work has been widely published and exhibited. I am an Honorary Life Member of my local Dawlish and Teignmouth Camera Club: I lecture and judge throughout the Western Counties Photographic Federation (WCPF).
I have degrees in Social Sciences and Education. I worked in education for many years, and later at the University of Exeter. I have been a local tour guide. I have taught photography at my local Community College, and have led photography workshops.
