Like many I started taking photographs as a schoolboy. After an apprenticeship in the Merchant Navy, I worked as a photographer for the Yorkshire Evening Post before going to Liverpool University where I took pictures for the student newspaper and was a stringer for the Liverpool Echo. A post grad in Film and Television at Bristol University lead to a teaching post in the Drama Department. Then made film and video with the Scottish Council for Educational Technology and The Netherlands Institute for Audiovisual Media. Now retired and living in Switzerland and busy as a freelance.
