Mahaseen-Rogers

My name Mahaseen
I come from the city of Tangier on the north coast of Morocco, a city which is very beautiful and at the same time a city that is bathed in the Mediterranean light.
It is this contrast of light along with its shadow that has profoundly influenced me in my creative work. It is what inspires me and what I always look for in the heart of my photographs.
I moved to Manchester In the UK 15 years ago and it was there that my passion for the camera really began in seriousness. I studied photography and achieved a Bachelor of Arts degree at Blackpool and the Fylde university in the North West of England. Whilst there, I worked as a jobbing photographer and collaborated in various projects related to magazine productions.
Over the years I have taken a more creative path and I have developed a personal style to my work whereby I seek to explore a more deeper meaning to the existence of being. I look to discover a more spiritual aspect to life and what it means simply to be, in relation to what is around us. Here is where the influence of light and its contrast are explored very often with the use of long exposure.
