Mr Driffield & Dr Hurter: Their Lives & Times in Pictures
Today's photographers owe a great debt of gratitude to Mr Driffield and Dr Hurter and their pioneering work in providing reliable data for the exposure of film and plates to light. Vero Charles Driffield was born in Prescot Lancashire and associated with Dr Ferdinand Hurter who settled in Cheshire. They worked for Gaskell Deacon of Widnes later the United Alkali Company.
Dr Ronald M Callender FRPS has researched their story for many years and has recently published this short illustrated account of their lives and work, as a tribute to these remarkable men.
