The Fab Three: Alvin Langdon Coburn, Edward Weston & Ansel Adams

An original, illustrated Zoom presentation with artist Rex Parker showcasing three photography superstars whose brilliant, timeless images defined 20th-century photography.

Journey with Parker to the age of photogravure prints, soft-focus lenses,  Vortograph abstract exposures, the famous 'zone system' and the creation of Group f/64.

Track photography’s transition from Pictorialism to Modernism and discover some fascinating stories behind the most memorable images created by Coburn, Weston and Adams, still celebrated for their technical mastery and vision.

Rex Parker is an American artist, designer and illustrator. He created the graphically bold “Games On!” poster series for Chicago’s Olympic bid, thirty iconic posters for the Frederic Goudy: The Titan of Type” exhibition, and two decades of work for the  John Deere Classic, a legendary PGA tournament. His upcoming poster series, “H. G. Wells: A Time Traveler’s Life,” will premiere this summer to celebrate the 125th anniversary of H. G. Wells’s classic sci-fi adventure novel, The Time Machine.

Rex’s work is available for public viewing in a variety of Galleries, Museums, Universities, and other permanent collections throughout the United States and abroad: including the The Rare Book & Manuscript Library at the University of Illinois, Chicago Design Archive, The Rochester Institute of Technology-Cary Graphic Arts Collection in Rochester, NY, Scott Fitzgerald Museum in Montgomery, Alabama, The Grolier Club in New York, NY, and the William Morris Society Museum at Kelmscott House in London, England.
