Workshops, courses and symposia

Exhibitions

Our Bristol gallery space is closed until 2021 but you may like to visit one of our exhibitions virtually in the interim.

International Photography Exhibition 162 celebrates photography from across the globe. Each year, the touring exhibition is selected from a worldwide open-call.

Sugar Paper Theories Bristol-based photographer Jack Latham, immersed himself in the most controversial murder investigation in Icelandic history.

Distinctions

The RPS Distinctions department manage a hugely successful and thriving range of events and activities. These include:

  • Talks - now in their second season, the popular Distinctions Live Talks have been watched by thousands of people around the world. They are open to all and free to attend.

  • Portfolio reviews - have a private, individual session with a panel member, who will be able to see your images and discuss with you the best way forward. Open to members and non-members.

  • Roadshows - learn how to achieve your Distinction directly from panel members and successful applicants. Open to all.

  • Advisory Days - attending an Advisory day will give you the opportunity to discuss your portfolio with a current panel member in a professional but friendly atmosphere.

  • Assessments - have your worked assessed for a Distinction. To see the most up-to-date information on availability on Distinction Assessment Days please choose from the following links: Licentiate (LRPS), Associate (ARPS), Fellowship (FRPS).

Workshops

Due to the current uncertainty with the coronavirus, we will not be running any workshops at RPS House until further notice. However, we will be running outdoor and indoor Covid compliant workshops at other venues. 

Whether you wish to learn new skills or improve old ones our workshops offer a wide range of subjects. We also offer professional courses to help those going into commercial photography.
