Online talk: Steel-Oil-Steam with Evans+Hulf
Event info
To coincide with the recent launch of Steel-Oil-Steam, the photographers Tom Evans and Terry Hulf will be joining the RPS to talk about their book and how they approached the photography using a 15 x 12 inch format 1886 J. T. Chapman The British camera. The photographs were taken between 2016 and 2020 by Evans+Hulf at the locomotive department of the Kent and East Sussex Railway.
Evans+Hulf is a collaborative project by two photographers working with a restored 1886 Ultra Large Format camera that takes 15 x 12 inch negatives. What started as a matter of curiosity—would it be possible to make pictures with this antique?—turned into a long-term artistic exploration. See: https://evans-hulf.com/
