Judy Hicks joined the RPS in 2013, when she was preparing to retire: after a career in Finance & Administration, she wanted to explore and develop her creative side! She obtained her LRPS in 2015.
She has served in a number of roles on the London Region Volunteer Team continuously since 2014, initially as web editor for London and then in 2016 as Co-Regional Organiser, working with Neil Cordell. Currently she is one of the key members of the London core volunteer team, with the title of Co-Deputy Regional Organiser. She sees herself very much as a facilitator and co-ordinator, leading/supporting regular meetings, events, street walks, exhibitions and special projects. Judy is also a mentor on the RPS London-CafeArt Photography Mentoring Programme (a programme for people who are suffering the effects of homelessness), a role which she enjoys and finds worth-while.
Judy’s photography interests vary widely, but probably fall in the classifications of travel and street/urban. In addition. she likes new challenges, having recently even tried out some macro-photography! Someone who likes to remain active, she enjoys and has taken part in nearly all London Region’s Projects since 2015. Currently a member of the Visual Arts Group.
