Martin Tomes LRPS

Awarded The RPS Fenton Medal in recognition of a notable contribution to the work of the Society.

Martin Tomes has been taking photographs since his teens. His main interests are landscapes and cityscapes with forays into other genres such as macro and sport. He has recently converted a camera to Infrared and is enjoying experimenting with monochrome and false colour IR photography. Martin also enjoys making Audio Visual presentations. 

Martin joined the RPS and Digital Imaging Group in January 2021, and began running a DIG critique group in May 2022.

Martin is a key member of the Digital Imaging Group. In particular, his work for the Talk Walk Talk (TWT) series of themed events run in conjunction with the Landscape Group have been led by him and the programme, which was introduced a few years ago, has been instrumental in providing a renewed focus for RPS members' photography within the DI Group and beyond.  He has been critical to the success of this programme. In the words of his nominator "TWT shows and stands for collaboration between RPS amazing volunteer community."

Martin also successfully runs an eCircle group which meets monthly.
