Finance & Data Analyst
The Royal Photographic Society is seeking a Finance & Data Analyst to join its team at a pivotal stage in its development. This is an opportunity to play a key role in helping us strengthen our financial planning, become increasingly data-led, commercially aware and strategically focused.
Reporting to the Director of Finance & HR, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial reporting, analysis and insight across the organisation. Working closely with senior leaders and budget holders, you will produce management accounts, support budgeting and forecasting processes, analyse performance trends, and provide recommendations that support effective decision-making.
Beyond the finance function, you will help develop meaningful management information across the Society, bringing together data from membership, education, distinctions and regional activities to provide a clearer understanding of organisational performance. You will identify trends, create reporting tools and dashboards, and help colleagues turn data into actionable insight.
This role would suit a commercially minded analyst who enjoys working with both financial and operational data, is naturally curious, and can confidently communicate findings to a range of stakeholders.
Key requirements include:
- Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets
- Experience producing management information and performance reports
- The ability to translate complex data into clear business insights
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience working within a charity, membership, education or not-for-profit environment
Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools would be advantageous.

Community Coordinator
Purpose
We are an educational charity and membership organisation which encourages the public appreciation and understanding of the art and science of photography. This role is central to delivering excellent member experiences.
The role provides a first point of contact for members, supports them through key moments in the member journey including joining, onboarding, renewals, and retention. While ensuring that member feedback is captured, logged, and used to further improve member services. The role also supports our volunteer community where needed, but with a clear focus on how volunteer activity contributes to the wider member experience.
Key responsibilities
- Act as a first point of contact for member enquiries via phone, email and other agreed
channels, providing timely, professional and helpful support. - Support members through key journeys including joining, onboarding, renewals,
cancellations, and reinstatements. - Support the Marketing team in recruiting new members to The RPS, through direct
engagement with our wider audience. - Log, track and resolve member cases, escalating issues where needed and following up
to ensure good outcomes. - Capture member feedback, identify recurring themes, and contribute insights that
improve retention, satisfaction, and service quality. - Maintain accurate member records and ensure the CRM/membership database is kept
up to date. - Work with colleagues across Membership, Marketing, Content and Events to improve
communications, journeys and service touchpoints. - Support volunteer communications and administration where this improves the member
experience, including guidance, induction materials and accurate records. - Contribute to service improvement by suggesting process changes, updating guidance
and helping shape member-facing communications. - Attend events to support member acquisition and member engagement
- Support relevant meetings or committees connected to member experience, volunteer
engagement, or membership growth.
Person specification
- Experience in a member services, customer support, community engagement or
similar member-facing role. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence handling enquiries
sensitively and professionally. - Experience using CRM, database, or membership management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple cases, prioritise effectively, and work accurately in a busy
environment. - An interest in photography, the arts, or creative industry to have an understanding
and empathy for The RPS audience of passionate photographers - A genuine interest in improving service quality, member satisfaction, and retention.
- Ability to spot patterns in feedback and turn them into practical improvements.
- A positive and passionate individual, keen to improve themselves and the
environment around them
Working Conditions & Benefits
- Hybrid working with 1–2 days per week onsite
