Festive Cheer - Lightpainting your way to Christmas

Join Michelle Essenson at this online event which will teach you all you need to know about the magical world of lightpainting. As we approach Christmas, lightpainting is a great photographic activity to provide a little festive cheer for you and your family.

During the session Michelle will explain how to set up your camera or smartphone to create vivid lightpainting images using a variety of everyday items. She will also recommend some inexpensive specialist tools available to purchase in the UK. During the live demonstrations, you will be able to see each painting build up in realtime.

Lightpainting is a great lockdown activity that can be practiced at home, indoors or outdoors, in both large or small spaces. This activity is suitable for all ages.

During the session Michelle will explain how to set up your own camera*  to create your light painting images. Michelle will give you ideas on how to make simple lightpainting tools from everyday household items as well as showing you a few relatively inexpensive specialist tools which are available in the UK. As well as showcasing a variety of images, during the live demos you will be able to see each lightpainting build up in realtime.

Lightpainting is a great lockdown activity suitable for all ages and household situations. It can be done indoors and outside, in both small and large spaces, and either on your own or with others (Covid restrictions applied).

With the festive season approaching the images created and discussed during the evening have a Christmas theme.

Get ready to laugh and have fun while exploring how to produce images which could also be turned into a set of unique Christmas cards and gift tags.

The Tutor: Michelle is passionate about light painting and is looking forward to building people’s confidence and experience with this great genre of photography. Having run her own Learning and Development company for many years, she is a very experienced workshop facilitator and coach. She is known for her creativity and desire to help others unleash their own in fun and supportive learning environments.
