This workshop is ideal if you want to gain valuable insight and skills in macro and art photography including concepts, lighting, equipment, technique and post processing.

It contains over 4 hours of video from our sell out Royal Photographic Society Macro & Art Lecture by RPS Fellow, Educator and Author; John Humphrey.

The videos have been divided into 7 parts for your convenience and contains an accompanying handout pdf.

Our on-demand workshops are live and authentic, filmed as if you were in the room.

Equipment and knowledge needed:
For some of the macro work there is advantage in being a user of an interchangeable lens camera and having reasonable knowledge of basic camera functions, and that for some of the art sessions a basic knowledge of Photoshop is an advantage. But that the majority of the material will be relevant to anyone interested in creative photography and who would like to take their photography in new directions.

– The seven techniques for macro photography
– Successful subjects for macro and art photography
– The rules of photographic colour and composition, and when to break them
– Using Photoshop for art photography
– Key techniques for image manipulation

The Tutor:
John Humphrey is a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society. He is an experienced photographer and presenter. His photography has featured in many exhibitions including the International Print and Projected Exhibitions of the Royal Photographic Society and the London Salon of Photography. John’s book ‘Close-up and Macro Photography’ is published by Crowood Press.

This workshops has been produced in partnership with Amersham Studio and Training Centre.
