Jonathan and Angela Scott, The Big Cat People, live in Kenya. They are passionate conservationists who have spent more than 40 years documenting the lives of Africa’s charismatic big cats in the Maasai Mara National Reserve and the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania where Angela grew up. They are the Authors and Photographers of 35 Books including award winning children’s titles. They are the only couple to have won the prestigious Overall Award in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition as individuals: Jonathan in 1987 and Angela in 2002.
Jonathan co-presented the hugely popular BBC/Animal Planet wildlife television series ‘Big Cat Diary’ from 1996 to 2008 and Elephant Diaries from 2005 to 2007. Jonathan and Angela presented features for Paramount Television’s ‘Wild Things’ (1997-1999) and currently co-present ‘Big Cat Tales’ on Animal Planet with Jackson Ole Looseyia. They are Founders of the Sacred Nature Initiative and Patrons or Ambassadors for a number of Conservation and Community projects including the Kenya Wildlife Trust’s Mara Predator Conservation
Programme, the Cheetah Conservation Fund, Colobus Conservation, Rhino Ark, the Bishop Simeon Trust and ADCAM Mara.
