Talk by Steve Race - Wild Shetland

Steve is an award-winning professional wildlife photographer based in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. He has been a keen naturalist and photographer for over 30 years, lived on the Yorkshire Coast all of his life and believes thereis no better place for variety of habitats and amazing wildlife.
Inspired by the natural world around him Steve captures incredible wildlife images. In 2013 he was “Commended” in the “Wildlife Photographer of the Year Awards”, “Big Picture USA – Natural World Photography Competition” and “British Wildlife Photographer of the Year Awards” in which in 2015 he was “Highly Commended”. His work has been published in national and regional media and magazines, leaflets, websites and publications. Steve has also been featured on BBC Countryfile, Channel 4ʼs Sunday Brunch, regional Channel 5ʼs “Yorkshire | A Year in the Wild” series.
The Shetland Isles is one of my Steve Races favourite places in the UK for wildlife.
This talk highlights some of the key species of birds and mammals that breed on and call Shetland their home. From Mountain Hares and Otters to Red-throated Divers the Shetland Isles are truly a magical place to visit.

The event will start at 10.30 am with doors opening from 10.00 (it would be helpful if those arriving early can help with the setting out of chairs).
We anticipate. that the workshop will finish at about 15.30.
Tea/Coffee and Biscuits will be available on arrival and at break times during the day. You will need to bring a packed lunch, although there are food outlets within walking distance of the venue.
Parking is available at the former school across the road and the train station is within a short walk of the venue.
