Continuing the RPS Historical Group's series of online talks looking at photography collections and archives...
Special Collections Curator Anne Anderton discusses the establishment of the Visual Collections at The John Rylands Research Institute and Library, The University of Manchester.
Over the last decade, The Rylands has been establishing an excellent reputation for actively collecting a broad range of examples of photographic practice and embedding photographic material in its teaching, learning and engagement activities. This talk focuses on some of the highlights of the photographic collections housed there, featuring works by such luminaries as Alvin Langdon Coburn and Julia Margaret Cameron.
The presentation will be introduced by Gilly Read FRPS, chair of the RPS Historical Group.
Anne's presentation will be followed by a public Q+A. Questions will be taken by Zoom chat
