I first read about Giacomo in my issue 247 of Black and White Photography, where he spoke about his new Fine Art Street Photography book of New York in an article by Nick Scott. As I flicked the page I saw a small headline that really interested me, which read that Giacomo considered himself as being a ‘street photography artist’.
We often read descriptive text where someone calls him/herself an artist, and sometimes it seems it is simply for the sake of it, but with Giacomo’s work I was seeing the statement visually communicated to me.
Further investigation revealed an artist who thought through his process early in his career and has stuck with it, and with what might be referred to as a unique process he produces amazing images.
I am really looking forward to have a chat with Giacomo and hope you can join us on December 15th 2020 at 2pm from where ever you are in the world via zoom.
