A Ginko Photobook Slow Walk with Stewart Wall MA ARPS
Event info
Ginko Photobook Slow Photowalk
An Intuitive Poetic Response to the Experience of Life Itself
Going beyond Street Photography, the aim of Stewart Wall's 'Ginko Photobook Slow Photowalks' is to transform a walk in nature, where 'nature' could be anywhere, and in any environment in the World, into an exciting and memorable experience, where it is not about how far you walk, but about what and how you see and respond to things.
Stewart will be sharing with the participants his way of seeing and responding to the things he sees on his slow photowalks, which is based on his training as a Fleet Street Press Photographer.
The photography is only part of the experience, the other parts are engagement with haiku and senryū ways of reacting to images, and then the creation of small books, like Ginko002: Blooming Cleethorpes and which are based on the design of the famous Phaidon55 books.
All are welcome on Stewart’s Ginko Photobook Slow Photowalks, but each inclusive walk is limited to 8 participants, and lasts for up to around three hours. All participants are then invited to submit 2 or 3 images for a Collaborative Photobook that Stewart designs, but there is no obligation to submit work if participants prefer not to. These events are about enjoying photography.
The RPS London Region 'Ginko Photobook Slow Photowalk will start at 10.30am on April 23rd, 2022, leaving from, and returning to the Espacio Gallery, 159 Bethnal Green Road, London E2 7DG
