Roger Battersea

London Midweek Explorers September 2022

Event info

This month we visit Battersea

Most of you will be very familiar with the changes and major redevelopment that Battersea has undergone over the last few years:  there is much to see here. We begin our exploration in Nine Elms at the new Tube Station on the Northern line (Charing Cross branch). As you exit this station onto the Wandsworth Road take a left and head towards the nearby Sainsbury’s – just inside the building is a Starbucks which is where we will meet at 11:00 for an 11:15 start.

After exploring the area, we make our way to the “other side of the tracks” where we find the new US Embassy, the Embassy Gardens and the Sky Pool.

We continue exploring the new developments – many still in progress and some along the riverside - until we reach Battersea Power Station, where there is more to photograph and opportunities for a coffee/comfort break.

(Lunch point to be confirmed).

This walk will offer photographic opportunities for various genres eg Urban, Street, Citiscape and more.

Be sure to come prepared for the weather: remember this is British Summer and we may have sunshine or rain or both in the course of the walk!

Wear appropriate footwear and take care!
