BRITISH WILDLIFE  PHOTOGRAPHY

UNFORTUNATELY WE HAVE HAD TO CANCEL THIS EVENT.

An opportunity to visit one of the country’s finest collections of native wildlife when closed to the public and offers special access inside the fox, otter and Scottish wildcat enclosures, with the potential for close up photography without fences or other barriers. The combination of natural settings, a peaceful environment and a small group sizes give you an unrivalled day of wildlife photography, led by an experienced keeper who will present some of the very best British wildlife photo opportunities available. Other subjects may include badgers, hedgehogs, red squirrels, polecats, harvest mice and owls.

The day will begin with a talk from one of the senior keepers about the role of the centre in education and conservation.

This workshop is designed for any photographer seeking the shots that would normally take patience and lots of luck to achieve in the wild!

The Centre is located on the A22, just 10 minutes south of the M25 junction 6 and 10 minutes north of East Grinstead. There is ample free parking. The animals are hardy and appear whatever the weather, so bring spare memory cards and batteries. Almost any type of camera is suitable, especially DSLRs or mirrorless cameras with interchangeable lenses. You will be very close to your subject so short to medium telephoto zooms up to 200-300mm are ideal. A macro lens is also useful, tripod optional.

Wear appropriate clothes for the day, and a waterproof is useful not just for the risk of rain but to get low down on the ground if you want eye level pictures.

Coffee and tea will be available during the day, and a light buffet lunch is included.

Please note: this event is subject to the government recommendations regarding the COVID 19 pandemic and may have to be cancelled or the programme modified nearer the time. We would regret any inconvenience, refunds or alternative dates will be offered.
