Springtime in Granada

22-27 March 2025

Granada is like no other Spanish city. Situated in Andalusia, the southern-most province of Spain, with the stunning backdrop of the snowcapped Sierra Nevada, the city is dominated by the Alhambra, the palace of the last Moorish rulers of Spain prior to their eviction in 1792 by the Catholic rulers Ferdinand and Isabella. The taking of Granada by the Catholic Monarchs Ferdinand and Isabella in 1492 heralded the Spanish expansion that ultimately led to the discovery of the New World. To understand the history of Granada is to understand the history of Europe in the 16th and 17th centuries.

Northern Ireland:Belfast and beyond

Monday 16th June 2025 - 5 nights

This is a hybrid trip with some organised elements, lots of suggestions for photographic routes and ample opportunity to explore the two cities  - Belfast and Derry - by yourself.

The trip is limited to eight Travel Group Members and will be based in the centre of Belfast.

This RPS Travel Group Trip will include a pre and post trip zoom meeting.

The itinerary has been planned by Patricia Mackey ARPS, our Travel Log editor, who lives in Northern Ireland and was awarded her ARPS with photographs taken locally.

Share and Chat
Regular, informal, online meetings of Group members

A number of Share and Chat gatherings have been held this year and are proving a useful means of finding out more about what those who attend would want from the Group and hearing about some of the less well known destinations members have visited. These sessions depend very much on Group member involvement. They are not recorded.

In September we will visit Kenya with some of those who enjoyed a safari there in June and see Hong Kong and Qatar through the lens of Paul Sansome, so it'll be a good Sunday afternoon! And there will be announcements of more inspiring events to follow in the next twelve months.

If you can offer an item for a future gathering, please contact David Short (travelevents@rps.org)
