WE ARE Magazine – October 2026 | Out Now!

Discover the 13th issue of our award-winning WE ARE Magazine, celebrating the creativity, diversity and storytelling of women photographers.

This edition explores our connections to place, analogue and experimental photography, and deeply personal stories of identity, memory and belonging.

Our striking front cover features Helena Miscioscia’s Eclipse Through a Colander (On the Face of My Mum), voted for by our members. The photograph went viral during the total eclipse, and Helena shares the wonderfully chaotic story behind its creation.

Recently recognised with international awards from Prix de la Photographie Paris (Px3) and the International Photography Awards (IPA), WE ARE continues to champion and showcase women's photography.

Presence / Absence

What is present in a photograph – and what is missing?

A trace of someone no longer there. An empty space filled with memories. Something seen, something felt, something left unsaid.

We invite you to explore Presence / Absence through your own photographic interpretation. One photograph or a diptych – the creative possibilities are yours.

Entries: 1 November 2026 – 31 January 2027

The prize: A beautiful artist's book by Eli Pimentel ARPS, who will also judge the competition. Selected entries may feature in a WIP photobook.

WE ARE Magazine receives two international awards

We’re delighted that the April 2026 issue of WE ARE, the RPS Women in Photography magazine, has now received two international photography awards.

The 248-page issue received an Honourable Mention in the 2026 International Photography Awards (IPA), in the Professional, Book – Self-Published category, and has now been awarded Silver in the 2026 Prix de la Photographie, Paris (PX3), in the Professional, Book – Other category.

Created by our volunteer editorial team, WE ARE brings together the work and stories of women photographers from across the world.
