The 2019 AGM was the first event in my (short) role as President Elect. It was a very full day and it was great to see so many people attending in the new Auditorium at RPS House. Unfortunately I missed out on the talks put on in the afternoon as we had a short meeting of the new Council.
But both at the AGM and at the end of the afternoon event there was the opportunity to talk to the members assembled there. With a great group ranging from ex-Presidents of The Society to newer members it was an opportunity to exchange thoughts around Photography and the role of The Society. I am looking forward to continuing this discussion over coming years.
We passed a number of resolutions at the AGM, including one to consider the Society’s position with regard to climate change and pollution. I have a personal interest in this one that has overlapped with my working life so I am looking forward to the meeting with the working group on this. You will be able to read more on this in the VoiceBox column in the January Journal
And finally, it was good to see the event spilling out into the foyer of RPS House with the newly installed President making a presentation of an award under the RPS Crest. See you all there next year!
