I am extremely pleased and excited that Evan Dawson will soon be joining the RPS as Chief Executive Officer in a few weeks time. Having spent time getting to know Evan, I'm confident he will bring great energy, experience, insight and leadership to the RPS.
Evan and I will have a week working together before I leave the organisation on 31st July.
It has been an extraordinary privilege to work for the RPS over the past two years. I have learned a huge amount and I am extremely grateful for the experience.
Above all, I have been struck by the incredible commitment so many Members of the RPS have to the organisation, and toward one another. This passion and commitment fuels incredibly hard work by countless volunteers, which lies at the core of the RPS.
I would like to say a huge thank you to the staff team in Bristol, many of whom have worked for and supported the organisation over a great many years and through huge changes, not least in the past two years and in recent months. Thank you for your kindness, patience, and limitless care for the work of the RPS.
I'm leaving in the midst of an ongoing health emergency and, whilst this has brought its challenges, it is also clear it has been a time of reinvention and valuable learning. The RPS is reaching more people than ever and, under the leadership of Evan and its Trustees, I'm confident it is on its way to becoming a stronger organisation which will continue to increase its impact over the coming years.
With very best wishes
Mike
