It was with great sadness that we learnt today of the death of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, who passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.
The RPS President, Simon Hill HonFRPS, has written to Her Majesty The Queen on behalf of the Royal Photographic Society:
Prince Philip was an Honorary Member of the RPS and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second become Patron of the Royal Photographic Society in June 1952. They were photographed together for the RPS Journal the following year (top right). Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cambridge took over patronage of the RPS in 2019.
