A year ago today we lost a shining light here at the RPS. Rhys Jones ARPS was a much loved Regional Organiser for South Wales.
Throughout his life, Rhys was dedicated to helping people enjoy photography. To honour Rhys, the RPS and Rhys' family will launch a brand new award in his name.
When explaining his motivation to volunteer Rhys said he wanted to: "...encourage young people and disadvantaged people to take up photography and to engage in an activity that is challenging, rewarding and will help develop their wellbeing."
The new award will recognise an individual living or working in South Wales and will give them a grant to support their photography as well as mentorship and opportunities to exhibit their work.
More details will be announced soon.
