The Photobook Club collective has today launched a public presence at the Royal Photographic Society (RPS), Bristol, bringing books, zines and postcards from 26 of its members to visitors to RPS House. Founded by photographer and editor Tom Broadbent the Photobook Club, is a collective of photographers and visual artists who have all published books of their work.

For the RPS, the opportunity to bring in great photobooks from respected photographers for visitors to see, handle and purchase is part of its wider objective of making photography available to everyone. The RPS bookshop complements that at its close neighbour the Martin Parr Foundation and this is the only place where all the books can be viewed, other than online.

Alongside the bookshop the Photobook Collective will be bringing a monthly series of live and streamed talks from its roster of photographers and artists starting in February. First up is Marc Wilson on 16 February talking about his Bearing witness to the Holocaust project, with the accompanying publication, A Wounded Landscape. In March Tom Broadbent will reveal more about the collective during his talk (details here), which has flourished during lockdown. Books will be available for signing at each event.  Details of subsequent talks will be published shortly.

The collective will also have a major presence at the annual BOP (Books on Photography) event in October organised jointly by RPS and MPF.
