The Contemporary/Documentary subgroup had its latest outing last week in Edinburgh, and it was a great day.
We started off at the Scottish Parliament to view their Art Collection, then crossed the road to the King’s Gallery at Holyrood Palace, where there is an exhibition going on about Royal portraiture through the years…fascinating styles and changes of format / formality that reflects Society, and the Royals’ interactions with that.
We then went to Stills Gallery in Cockburn Street where there is an Exhibition on about British Working Class Photography, and had a curated tour round that. One of our members (Andrew Flannigan ARPS) took a lovely shot there that was selected for the Leica Masterclass Gallery…so a fine ending to that day.
